Subject:

Product Forum
rechargeable battery?
Is the information correct? 3000mAh in a AA size Battery? How is it possible? |
It is not AA size, this is 18650 size, they are bigger.
Dimensions: 5.99cm x 1.91cm x 1.91cm = 18650 as title says.

its not AA Size.
Its "18650", which means its 18mm in diameter and 65mm long and its li-ion. Even though its 18650 li-ion, but I dont think the true compacity would be 3000mAh. |
Are these the batteries that are used in laptop batteries?
Yes, they are!
Would somebody please risk their money on this and do a capacity check? This looks great!

- 650 mm is 65 cm or 2 feet 2 inches (2'2"), this battery is only 65 mm long. ___________ Stay a while and listen! |

Those batteries real capacity is near 3000 mAh (rather 2900) at low discharge current, but because of a high internal resistance, tht capacity drops quickly while the current gets higher. Over about 1.5A, is drops below 2500 mAh and at 5A (less than 2C), it can reach 1300 mAh and the cell get hot.
These batteries are only interesting for low power applications. When a high current is needed, the sku 20392 and 5790 are quite better. |

Would be perfect for rebuilding laptop batteries though :)
My laptop is Fujitsu 6110D and has 6 cells 7.4V (3parallel x 2serial); it usually runs about 12W. Works out to 1.62A current draw over 3 cells that are in parallel. so that's 540mA or 0.18C! The original cells were 2600Mah, so this should give a 15% improvement, boosting theoretical battery life to 7 hours! yaay |
