Partial Shipment and Tracking Numbers

(Thread Closed)

Q & A

Only 1 partial shipment is guaranteed to have a tracking number when an order is separated into multiple partial shipments. The other partial shipments will usually be shipped with untracked Hong Kong Post Airmail, but depending on destination and value of the partial shipment, tracked HongKong Post / Chinapost Airmail might be used instead.

NOTE: You can request DX to split your order:
http://services.dealextreme.com/forms/ChangeOrder.aspx
Put "00000" into the Original SKU and New SKU fields and your request into the Brief Reason text box.

sku.1888: If partial shipments are used on an order with dropshipping/SKU1888 then DX will automatically add dropshipping/SKU1888 to all the partial shipments for free

[Update Nov.2010] If partial shipments are used on an order:

Orders with tracked Airmail (>$15): Any partial shipment of this order worth more than $6 will come with tracking number.

Orders with EMS: When a partial shipment is over $30USD, it will be shipped with EMS service as well. Partial shipments =<$30USD will be sent via Registered Airmail service (HK Post/Chinapost).

That`s not an option.

Why can`t there be some option on my account or on behalf of my account, when I never ever again want partial shipments?

I always choose the value of my orders above the limit of 15$ for being tracked and even if its teared apart (I HATE THAT!), only the first shipment has a tracking number, regardless of the total value of the second shipment - I do NOT understand that!

My first untracked DX-shipment never arrived here and that is my general experience with ordering via foreign airmail. If it`s untracked - every employee on the delivery way can see the STEAL ME - NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!-sign literally printed on the package, so where is the sense in that? And where is the sense in getting back to customer service after more than two months (!!!!) requesting a refund and all there is done is shipping the same single item UNTRACKED AGAIN? How long and how often do I have to call in a missing item over and over to get a proper refund instead of the same unsafe untracked single delivery?

I do NOT want an untracked/ partial shipment ever again, so please.. make available an option in my customer account for that to happen. It is not only cheaper for DX(just shipping once with only onetime-payment for delivery!), but a lot safer for all customers - tracked is tracked and hard to steal/ get "lost" in the mail.

Please consider this, DX-team.. would be a great improvement on a great site which I really learned to love during my orders and yes, I am still a fan - but please do NOT split up my orders ever again.

Cheers and all the best from Germany,

Jan

+1000 !!!

Excellent post bullpro and very eloquently put! (Spend the tip wisely...I just wish I had more active points. ;) )

I also do not want my orders being split for the same reasons, and to keep sending CSE's which could take 3-5+ days for action, is totally inefficient and way too annoying. (Ok I admit I might also be a bit lazy.)

DX can simply add an item similar to the drop shipping one...
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1888 ,in special services saying "Request for order not to be split/sent separately" ,or something similar. I would add it to my wishlist immediately. (They could also do the same for people who want extra bubble wrap/packaging...but charge for that sku!)

This would be extemely easy to implement, and would also have a lot of additional benefits, eg. saving DX a lot of money in having to replace items that have not been received, as well as freeing up CSE staff members valuable time for more important things!

I just hope that AMGGTV or a DX staff member get to read this.

+1 bullpro!

Why not to make a one-cent "product" like the drop shipment service that will indicate that the order should not be split? I have received only one non-tracked package from DX ever, and five or six were lost. Now I will order something on DX only if it's a single product costing more than $15, and that significantly narrows the scope of my possible purchases from DX. I would have ordered a lot of different things by now, grouped in $15 orders, if there was an option not to split the deliveries.

I'd tip you, Bullpro, but I have to wait a while for my points to become active.
